Almaty: An action plan aimed at addressing bottlenecks on the Middle Corridor was signed at the New Silk Way forum in Kazakhstan’s Almaty.

According to Trend News Agency, the document outlines a framework for cooperative operations among the railway administrations of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. Additionally, the meeting protocol involving the heads of delegations from the Middle Corridor nations was formalized, alongside a financial agreement for port infrastructure enhancement and the procurement of STS cranes, established between the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and JSC Aktau International Sea Trade Port.

The event saw participation from key figures including Kazakhstan’s Minister of Transport Nurlan Sauranbayev, Trkiye’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rahman Hummatov, and Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Genadi Arveladze. The parties underscored the strategic significance of the Middle Corridor as a vital transport route, while also discussing the development of transport connectivity, the expansion of trade and economic ties, and enhancing the corridor’s competitiveness on an international scale.

The agreements aim to bolster cooperation among the participating nations, ensure seamless transportation, and boost the transit potential of the Middle Corridor. This initiative is seen as a critical element for sustainable regional development and global logistics chains.
