Kazakhstan Delegation to Engage at UN General Assembly in New York

NEW YORK— Kazakhstan will be actively participating in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), spearheaded by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu, as the global community gathers to discuss pivotal issues ranging from economy and environment to health care and regional security.

According to Trend News Agency, the session, which commenced on September 10, will feature Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister addressing both the ‘Summit of the Future’ and the general debate. Scheduled from September 22 to 28, 2024, the visit is packed with thematic events that align with Kazakhstan’s strategic interests in trade, finance, environmental sustainability, and healthcare, among others.

Additionally, the UNGA sidelines will see Kazakhstan’s delegation participating in several key multilateral forums, including meetings with the foreign ministers from the OTS, ECO, ECO-ASEAN, CSTO, and the C5+1 Dialogue, along with the annual ministerial meeting of the UN Member States of the Group of Landlocked Developing Countries. Minister Nurtleu is also set to conduct bilateral meetings with his counterparts and heads of international organizations to further Kazakhstan’s diplomatic and developmental objectives.

The high-level general political debates of the UNGA, which attract ministers and heads of government from around the world, are slated for September 24-28 and will resume on September 30.
