KazTransOil, the operator of main oil pipelines in Kazakhstan, did not start oil transit from the Caspian port of Aktau to Baku in February with further transportation via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline due to the temporary suspension of loading operations at the Turkish Ceyhan sea terminal, the press reported. company service.

 

“On February 7, KazTransOil JSC received a notification of force majeure due to the temporary suspension of loading operations at the Ceyhan sea terminal. In this regard, the export of oil from the port of Aktau to Baku with further transportation through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline was suspended,” – the message says.

 

The company clarifies that this is oil from the state company KazMunayGas from the resources of Tengizchevroil, the operator of the development of the Tengiz field.

 

It should be noted that in December 2022, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Smailov, told reporters that there was an agreement with the Azerbaijani side from January 1 to start supplying oil through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan. According to him, the plans for 2023 are to send 1.5 million tons of Kazakh oil, and its further increase to 6-6.5 million tons per year is being worked out
