Kazakhstan stands ready to invest in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh – ambassador


Kazakhstan stands ready to consider various projects and invest in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh, Ambassador Alim Bayel told Trend on the sidelines of Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan agricultural forum held in the Kazakh embassy.

“We are considering various opportunities. The Azerbaijani side needs to demonstrate what exactly could be implemented. Overall, both our private sector and Kazakhstan as a state are ready to consider various projects and invest in Karabakh,” the ambassador explained.

Speaking about cooperation in the field of green energy, Bayel noted that work is progressing successfully on the implementation of a trilateral agreement between Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan on organizing the export of alternative energy to Europe.

“Our ministers of energy and ministers of the economy, have already held two meetings. One meeting took place in Baku, and the other in Tashkent. The next meeting is scheduled to be held in Kazakhstan. So the process is ongoing.

A feasibility study for this project is currently
being prepared. Everything is being calculated and assessed to determine how beneficial it will be, and so on. The day when we’ll begin implementing this project isn’t far off,” he added.

On March 12, the opening ceremony of the Kurmangazy Children’s Creativity Center took place in Azerbaijan’s Fuzuli. The center was built on the Kazakhstan side on a territory with a total area of??1.5 hectares. In addition, the Kazakh BI Group company will take part in the construction of the Central District Hospital in Fuzuli.

At the beginning of May, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan signed a memorandum of cooperation on the integration of the energy systems of the three countries. Baku, Astana, and Tashkent have also identified joint goals for the production of green energy and its export to Europe.
