Kuryk: International logistics company NAFITH and Kuryk Port Development in Kazakhstan have signed a memorandum of understanding to advance digital solutions for road transport along the Middle Corridor.

According to Trend News Agency, the signing occurred during King Abdullah II of Jordan's visit to Kazakhstan.

The agreement aims to introduce automation and digital control systems to streamline truck traffic in the port's rear areas and automate checkpoint operations. These advancements are expected to enhance safety and efficiency in cargo flow. The partnership with Kuryk Port is anticipated to improve the business environment, attract investors, and accelerate the development of a vital international transport route connecting Europe and Asia.

The Middle Corridor is a significant transport and trade route linking Asia and Europe, serving as an alternative to the traditional Northern and Southern corridors. Starting in China, the route traverses Central Asian countries like Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, then crosses the Caspian Sea, continuing through Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Trkiye before reaching Europe. This land route connects the eastern regions of Asia, including China, with Europe, offering a shorter path compared to longer sea routes.
