KazMunayGas and Turkish Petroleum Corporation Explore New Avenues for Collaboration in Energy Sector

Astana: Astana recently hosted a pivotal meeting between Askhat Khassenov, Chairman of the Management Board of KazMunayGas (KMG), and Ahmet Trkoglu, Head of Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO), aimed at discussing the expansion of bilateral cooperation in the fields of oil and gas exploration, production, and investment.

According to Trend News Agency, the meeting focused on reviewing potential opportunities for collaboration. KMG has previously facilitated introductory sessions for TPAO specialists, showcasing its promising exploration projects. These efforts are part of a broader initiative to explore avenues for joint ventures in Kazakhstan’s oil and gas sector.

Currently, joint working groups from both organizations are engaged in analyzing the geological potential of specific areas within Kazakhstan. Khassenov emphasized the significance of these efforts, underscoring that the partnership could evolve to include not just hydrocarbon exploration and production but also extend to knowledge-sharing, advanced technologies, and sustainable energy solutions.

Khassenov further articulated that strengthening ties with the Turkish partner is vital for enhancing energy security and fostering international cooperation. Such collaboration is expected to open new growth opportunities for both countries, contributing significantly to their respective economies.
