KazMunayGas Reports Rise in Oil Transportation for First Half of 2024


ASTANA — KazMunayGas (KMG), Kazakhstan’s national oil and gas company, has transported 41.7 million tons of oil in the first half of 2024, marking a significant increase from the previous year.



According to Trend News Agency, this volume represents a 6.2 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023, as reported by Trend. The increase in transportation aligns with broader national objectives. Almassadam Satkaliev, the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, noted that while oil production in 2023 was slightly below the target at 90 million tons against a planned 92-93 million tons, the country aims to elevate production levels to 90.3 million tons in 2024.



The comprehensive energy strategy of Kazakhstan includes not only boosting oil output but also enhancing its oil and gas condensate production, which reached 23.5 million tons in 2023. This production rate from KazMunayGas reflected a 6.5 percent increase over 2022. Additionally, the country witnessed a robust growth in natural and associated gas output, which climbed by 14.8 percent, reaching 9.45 billion cubic meters in the reported period.



In 2023, Kazakhstan also saw an increase in oil exports, which rose by 9.6 percent to 70.5 million tons. Gas production figures for the year totaled 59.063 billion cubic meters, with significant contributions from major fields such as Tengiz, Karachaganak, and Kashagan. Projections for 2024 estimate that Kazakhstan will produce 60.456 billion cubic meters of raw natural gas, reinforcing its position as a central player in the regional energy market.
