Keremet Bank case: Ex-member of Board of National Bank convicted

The Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek convicted Timur Dzhusupov, a former member of the Board of the National Bank. Own sources informed 24.kg news agency.

The defendant was sentenced to a fine of 1 million soms.

Earlier, other defendants in the case were fined the same amount — the former deputy chairman of the Board of the National Bank Nurbek Zhenish and the former member of the Board Nurlanbek Sagyndykov.

Earlier, the Prosecutor General’s Office initiated a criminal case under the articles «Money laundering», «Fraud» and «Forgery of documents» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Investigators of the supervisory authority detained the deputy chairman of the Board of the bank Maksat Dadybaev, two employees of the financial institution, as well as the director of the Bishkek branch. The deputy head of the Board was placed in the guardhouse of the capital’s garrison, the rest — in the remand center 1 in Bishkek. In February 2023, a criminal investigator of the security service of the State Committee for National Security was detained. Later it became known that two of the five defendants in Keremet Bank case compensated for damage in the amount of 2 million soms.
