Khankendi: Khankendi is set to emerge as one of the key cities in the Karabakh region, as announced by Elchin Yusubov, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Aghdara and Khojaly districts. The Public Relations Department of the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in the city of Khankendi and the districts of Aghdara and Khojaly revealed this information to APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Yusubov addressed the National Business Development Forum in Khankendi, where he disclosed that the city's master plan is nearing completion and will soon be publicly presented. The development concept is being crafted by Western companies, focusing on transforming Khankendi into a 'city of youth'. Educational and social infrastructure expansion is a primary goal, with a significant portion of land allocated for Karabakh University to ensure modern and comfortable facilities for students. It is anticipated that students and faculty will comprise about 12-15 percent of Khankendi's population.

The project envisions Khankendi evolving into a modern city with a population of approximately 80,000 people. All initiatives are aligned with sustainable development goals, aiming to transform Khankendi into a contemporary urban center in the near future.
