Korotchenko: “There is a need for recognition of the Khojaly events as an act of genocide in Russia

“There is a need for official recognition of the Khojaly events as an act of genocide of the Azerbaijani people at the legislative level in Russia,” Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the Russian magazine Nasionalnaya Oborona, a well-known military expert said at the event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide at the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center in Moscow.

“The most important thing we should say today is that there is no forgiveness for these crimes. Those Armenian politicians who gave the relevant criminal orders, those Armenian servicemen who committed these acts, and Armenian terrorists from the Middle East must be brought to justice for these events. Khojaly is a brutal war crime against humanity, Such crimes do not have a claim period. Politicians and perpetrators of the Khojaly genocide must be brought to justice. I am absolutely convinced that there is a need for official recognition of the Khojaly events as an act of genocide of the Azerbaijani people at the legislative level in Russia. We will try to get the Russian State Duma to adopt a relevant decision on the Khojaly genocide, which must be legally formalized, “Igor Korotchenko said.
