Kremlin Addresses Rumors of Discord Within BRICS

MOSCOW: The Kremlin has officially dismissed allegations of internal discord within BRICS, the economic alliance comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. This assertion comes amidst circulating rumors suggesting potential fractures within the group.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Dmitry Peskov, the Press Secretary for the President of the Russian Federation, firmly stated that the BRICS nations are not engaging in cooperation against any particular entity. This comment was made in response to speculation about the group’s unity.

Addressing the potential inclusion of Turkey in the BRICS alliance, Peskov clarified that Turkey’s NATO membership does not present a barrier to its accession. He highlighted a key difference between BRICS and other international entities, noting that BRICS does not impose restrictions on its members regarding their participation in other global organizations, unlike the European Union and NATO.
