Kremlin reveals details of Putin-Macron conversation

“Putin did not tell Macron that the State Duma’s idea of recognizing the “LPR” and “DPR” would not be taken into account, but explained that this was not a bill, but an initiative,” stated by the press-secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, APA’s correspondent in Moscow reports.

“Of course, there it was said that a question was asked about the draft law. And it was explained that this is not a bill, but an initiative, and that there is no bill on this matter, ”the Kremlin said.

Peskov also quoted the Russian president.

“We do not have a bill, there is no bill, it is an initiative of the Communist Party, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. This is their initiative, and it is not supported by the main ruling party, United Russia, but there is such an initiative,” Putin said.

Peskov clarified that the conversation between the two leaders took place before the vote on the initiative in the State Duma.

In a statement by French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian about the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin to French leader Emmanuel Macron about the “LPR” and “DPR”, the nuances were distorted.

“It is also very important here that the nuances are distorted here – in the statement of the minister,” Peskov said.
