The Office of the President of Ukraine announced on Tuesday Kyiv will obtain Western air and missile defense systems this fall, APA reports citing RBC-Ukraine.

In an interview with RBC-Ukraine, Andriy Sybiha, the deputy head of the office, said it is necessary to close the sky, adding that Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelenskyy has stated this multiple times to his Western partners.

“Kyiv now sees clear signals this will take place soon and is optimistic in this regard,” Sybiha noted.
