Baku:President Sadyr Zhaparov of Kyrgyzstan has expressed his support for extending Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) until 2028. Speaking at the 7th Summit of CICA held in Baku, Zhaparov praised Azerbaijan for its significant contributions to the organization.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Zhaparov highlighted the importance of strengthening digitalization across Asia as a key objective for countries aiming to enhance CICA. He noted that the Asian continent is poised to play a significant role in global economic growth, with the United Nations projecting it will account for 59 percent of such growth by 2026.

Zhaparov also addressed the emerging challenges and changes in international and transport routes, technological transformations, and increasing environmental risks. He emphasized the role of CICA as a vital platform for fostering open dialogue in light of these developments.
