Chuy region: Kyrgyzstan marked a significant milestone in its economic development with the groundbreaking ceremony of the “Manas” trade and logistics city. The event was led by Akylbek Zhaparov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, signaling the start of an ambitious project aimed at boosting the country’s trade and logistics capabilities.

According to Trend News Agency, the “Manas” city is set to be established in the Chuy region’s Alamudun district. This extensive project will sprawl over 700 hectares and is expected to house about 30,000 trading points. The project’s total investment is projected at $4.2 billion, with the first phase securing $700 million. The logistics city is designed to be a pivotal hub in the region, akin to the largest international seaports in terms of importance and functionality.

During his speech at the ceremony, Zhaparov highlighted the multifaceted benefits of the project, including the potential to enhance regional and international trade relations, create new job opportuni
ties, and improve conditions for exports. “We are embarking on a large-scale initiative-not merely constructing a trade and logistics center, but an entire city,” Zhaparov stated. He expressed optimism about the project’s impact on the economy and the new investment opportunities it will introduce.

The “Manas” trade and logistics city is poised to become a cornerstone in Kyrgyzstan’s strategy to expand its economic footprint and enhance its connectivity in global trade networks.
