Kyrgyzstan negotiates employment of citizens in Germany

The Minister of Labor, Social Security and Migration of Kyrgyzstan Kudaibergen Bazarbaev discussed cooperation in the field of employment between Kyrgyzstan and Germany with the Special Commissioner of the Federal Government for Migration Agreements at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Germany Joachim Stamp. The meeting was also attended by the head of the Federal Employment Agency Siegfried Bäumler, the head of the Foreign Migration Policy Department of the Office of the Federal Chancellor Alexander Jung.

Kudaibergen Bazarbaev noted that the priority task of the Ministry of Labor is the implementation of the presidential decree on the organization of conditions for safe labor migration.

«More than 11,000 people have already been employed abroad since the beginning of the year. We see a positive trend when the Kyrgyzstanis, having worked abroad, invest in their country upon return, use the acquired knowledge and skills to start their own business,» he said.

The minister added that President Sadyr Japarov also told about the importance of cooperation in the field of employment and vocational training, especially for young people, at a recent meeting with German President Walter Steinmeier.

«Today we need support in equipping 10 vocational guidance centers that will help Kyrgyzstanis returning from labor migration in employment and vocational guidance. Cooperation in the field of career guidance and employment was implemented through the GIZ, which this year is completing its work in Kyrgyzstan. At the same time, we are interested in continuing cooperation. I have already said about it at a meeting with representatives of the Bundestag,» Kudaibergen Bazarbaev said.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Germany Omurbek Tekebaev also noted the importance of legal employment.

«Simplifying the issuance of visas to Kyrgyzstanis will help expand the opportunities for legal employment of our citizens in Germany. The opportunity to gain knowledge and work experience in Germany is of social and economic importance for our country, and will also help young people in terms of personal growth,» he added.

It was noted that both countries are interested in organizing legal employment of Kyrgyzstanis in Germany, implementation of joint projects in the field of employment and vocational training.
