Bishkek: The Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan has announced its ambition to secure approximately $10 billion in funding to advance projects focused on building a green economy by the year 2030. This initiative underscores the country's commitment to sustainable development in critical sectors such as energy, transport, and agriculture.
According to Trend News Agency, preliminary estimates suggest that 37 percent of the required funding will be sourced domestically, while the remainder is expected to come from international donors and private investors. To facilitate this significant financial undertaking, the Kyrgyz government plans to establish a Green Financing Fund. This fund is poised to play a crucial role in attracting, managing, and distributing resources dedicated to eco-friendly projects.
The strategic areas of focus include energy, transportation, and agronomy, sectors identified as essential for modernization. These efforts are aimed at reducing emissions and improving efficiency across the board, aligning with global sustainability goals. The creation of the Green Financing Fund is anticipated to streamline the investment process, providing a structured approach to funding and implementing these transformative initiatives.
