Kyrgyzstan’s State Committee for National Security prevents terrorist act in Europe


BISHKEK: The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan, in cooperation with foreign partners, has prevented an attempt to organize a terrorist act in a European country, Trend reports.

According to the State Committee, the suspects in this case are members of an international terrorist organization. One of the potential perpetrators was a Kyrgyz citizen hiding abroad.

He was detained as part of a criminal case under Article 256, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan, “Participation of a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic in armed conflicts or military actions on the territory of a foreign state or undergoing training for committing a terrorist act.”

He has been delivered to Kyrgyzstan and placed in the detention center of the State Committee for National Security.

The officials have not disclosed the country.
