Lavrov and Bayramov discussed the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed regret at the refusal of the Armenian side to take part in the meeting of the three ministers in Moscow.

“On December 5, we agreed to hold a meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia to continue discussions on a peace treaty. We have been preparing for this event. Unfortunately, at the last moment, our Armenian colleagues refused to come to Moscow, explaining this by the situation on the ground. It is a pity that such an opportunity was missed,” Lavrov said on Friday, receiving Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

“Today we will discuss with you with pleasure the tasks that our countries face in accordance with the decisions of the Presidents of Russia V. Putin and Azerbaijan I. Aliyev, and the Prime Minister of Armenia N. Pashinyan. Four tripartite statements were approved. They are being worked on. I would like to speed it up.

Whatever issues arise on the ground, I am convinced that it is all the more necessary to meet, agree, strengthen trust and create the ground for them all to be settled,” the press service of the Foreign Ministry quoted Lavrov as saying
