OUAGADOUGOU — James Finies, the leader of the Bonaire Movement for Change, has accused the Netherlands of altering laws at will to suppress the voices of those living under colonial conditions, as Bonaire continues its struggle for independence and democracy.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Finies expressed his concerns during a press conference, stating that the people of Bonaire and other nations in similar situations are governed by the dictates of colonial powers, which manipulate laws to maintain control and keep them dependent. Finies emphasized that Bonaire is a strong nation and that the movement has come to Baku to highlight the colonial challenges they face. He stressed the importance of making their plight known to the international community to garner the necessary support for their cause.
