Leaders of the “Caspian Five” sign the final communiqué

According to the final communiqué of the Sixth Caspian Summit, the leaders of the Caspian states agreed to use the resources of the region for peaceful purposes.

The Presidents of Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan confirmed a number of principles of activity in the Caspian Sea.

This is “the use of the Caspian Sea for peaceful purposes, turning it into a zone of peace, good neighborliness, friendship and cooperation, the solution of all issues related to the Caspian Sea by peaceful means.”

The communiqué also says that the next Caspian summit will be held in Iran at the agreed time.

The Presidents stressed the importance of the decisions of the Caspian Summits held in Ashgabat (2002), Tehran (2007), Baku (2010), Astrakhan (2014) and Aktau (2018), and the need for their effective implementation.
