Turkmenbashi: Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, attended the opening ceremony of the Awaza branch of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship in Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan. The ceremony also saw the presence of Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice-President for Medical Activities of the Charitable Foundation.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Oguljahan Atabayeva highlighted the Foundation’s significant contributions since its establishment on the initiative of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. She pointed out that the Foundation has facilitated numerous complex medical operations and equipped various medical institutions with modern technology. Atabayeva emphasized that the Foundation allows citizens to engage in charitable activities, aligning with its mission to support children in need.

During the ceremony, Atabayeva reiterated the state’s commitment to prioritizing child welfare, noting the branch’s provisions for medical care, recreation, and rehabilitation. She affirmed the Foundation’s dedication to supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, which aim to enhance children’s living standards globally.

The Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation was founded in 2021 with the objective of creating favorable living conditions for children and aiding in their health recovery. It has successfully carried out numerous charitable and humanitarian initiatives in Turkmenistan and internationally. The Foundation’s operations are grounded in principles of humanism, justice, and goodwill, and it collaborates with state entities and international organizations like UNICEF to provide aid to children affected by disasters and emergencies in various countries, including Trkiye, Ukraine, Russia, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Palestine.
