Sheki: Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and Arzu Aliyeva, Head of the Baku Media Center, attended the opening of restored historical and architectural monuments in the Yukhari Bash National Historical-Architectural Reserve in Sheki city.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the restoration efforts were aimed at preserving Sheki's historical heritage and ancient craft traditions, while also enhancing the city's tourism potential.

During their visit, Leyla and Arzu Aliyeva assessed the new conditions at the Stained Glass Windows (Shabaka) Workshop and Training Center and the Sheki Museum of History and Local Lore. The museum features over three thousand exhibits reflecting the region's history, culture, ethnography, craftsmanship, and culinary legacy, with 1826 items displayed in the exhibition halls.

The Shabaka Workshop and Training Center includes facilities for exhibitions, workshops, and training focused on the art of weaving. The Aliyevas met with renowned shabaka master Tofig Rasulov and his students, participating in the creation of shabaka samples. They commended Rasulov for his efforts in preserving and passing on this traditional Azerbaijani art form.

Additionally, Leyla and Arzu Aliyeva engaged in sweet preparation activities and visited the ABAD Ceramics Center. It was highlighted that the restoration of other monuments within the reserve will continue progressively.
