Baku:A delegation from the General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania visited Azerbaijan as part of the 2026 bilateral military cooperation plan signed between the Ministries of Defense of Azerbaijan and Lithuania.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the delegation began their visit by paying respects at the Alley of Martyrs, honoring those who died for Azerbaijan's independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty.

During their visit, the Lithuanian delegation held meetings at several key military education institutions, including the National Defense University (NDU), the Military Institute named after Heydar Aliyev, and the Military Lyceum named after Jamshid Nakhchivanski. They received briefings on the organization of the military education system, the training of military personnel, the educational process, and professional development initiatives.

The discussions highlighted the importance of international cooperation and experience exchange in military education. The visiting and host delegations exchanged views on various issues of mutual interest.

The meetings concluded with an exchange of gifts, and the visit ended with a performance by the Military Lyceum's orchestra.
