Lithuanian President: Soviet Aggression Could Not Break Will of the Azerbaijani People

Baku: Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda commemorated the martyrs of January 20, as he expressed his sentiments on his "X" account, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Nauseda stated, "Lithuania stands with Azerbaijan as the country today honours the sacred memory of innocent people who became martyrs during the Soviet aggression of January 1990." He emphasized that the Soviet aggression could not break the resolve of the Azerbaijani people, acknowledging the enduring spirit and resilience of the nation.

In his heartfelt message, President Nauseda concluded with a solemn tribute to the martyrs, "May their souls rest in peace," underscoring the shared sense of solidarity and respect between Lithuania and Azerbaijan as they remember the tragic events of January 1990.
