Madrid: Madrid's Cibeles Fountain has been illuminated in the colors of the national flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The fountain was lit in blue, red, and green in Spain's capital on the occasion of Azerbaijan's Independence Day.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Kingdom of Spain was among the first countries to recognize the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan and establish diplomatic relations with the country.
