According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Erling Haaland was the standout performer, scoring a hat-trick for Manchester City with goals in the 39th minute from a penalty, in first-half stoppage time, and again in the 57th minute. Antoine Semenyo also contributed to the victory with a goal in the 50th minute. Liverpool's Mohamed Salah had a chance to reduce the deficit, but his penalty in the 64th minute was saved by Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford.

Manchester City's opponent for the semi-final will be determined after the upcoming quarterfinal matches. Chelsea will face Port Vale, and Southampton will play against Arsenal on Saturday. West Ham and Leeds are set to clash on Sunday.
