Marijana Kujundzic Highlights EU’s Commitment to Mine Action in Azerbaijan

Baku: Marijana Kujundzic, the EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan, reiterated the European Union's steadfast support for Azerbaijan's mine action initiatives during the 4th International Mine Action Conference in Baku. She underscored the importance of integrating mine action with reconstruction efforts, emphasizing that recovery is most effective when aligned with long-term planning, robust institutions, and the needs of the communities impacted by landmines.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Kujundzic acknowledged Azerbaijan's significant contributions to mine action, particularly the efforts of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) and other operational entities involved in surveying, clearing, educating, and aiding affected communities. She expressed the EU's pride in collaborating with Azerbaijan in these endeavors.

Kujundzic affirmed the EU's role as a dependable partner for Azerbaijan, committed to supporting initiatives that prioritize humanitarian demining as central to ensuring safe settlements and recovery. She highlighted the vision of transforming once-dangerous lands into areas of return, renewal, and opportunity, emphasizing the EU's long-term dedication to this cause.
