Baku: Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of the Punjab Province of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Republic of Azerbaijan on the occasion of its national holiday, May 28, commemorating the founding of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in 1918.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed her admiration for the courage and sacrifice of the Azerbaijani people during her visit to the final resting places of Heydar Aliyev and the Alley of the Martyrs in Baku. She highlighted the enduring legacy of national dignity and statesmanship associated with Heydar Aliyev, noting Azerbaijan's remarkable progress under its current leadership.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif also expressed gratitude for the warmth and generosity extended to her and her delegation during their visit to Baku. She emphasized the strong bond between Pakistan, particularly its province of Punjab, and Azerbaijan, underscoring shared convictions and mutual support.
