Moscow: Goalkeeper of the French PSG team, Matvey Safonov, and midfielder of the Turkish Galatasaray, Alexey Batrakov, have been called up to join the Russian national football team for the upcoming autumn training camp.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this announcement was made on September 15 on the website of the Russian Football Union.
The national team's autumn training camp is set to commence on September 21. The Russian national team is scheduled to play three matches: against Iran in Kazan on September 29, against Namibia in Yekaterinburg on October 3, and against Nigeria in Nizhny Novgorod on October 6.
The team roster also includes goalkeepers Anton Mitryushkin, Stanislav Agkatsev, and Alexander Maksimenko. The defense line will feature Arsen Adamov, Mingiyan Beveev, Ilya Vakhania, Kirill Danilov, Danil Krugovoy, Igor Diveev, Viktor Melekhin, Evgeny Morozov, Alexander Silyanov, and Maxim Osipenko.
In the midfield, players such as Artem Karpukas, Maxim Glushenkov, Danil Prutsev, Nail Umyarov, Matvey Kislyak, Ivan Oblyakov, Kirill Glebov, Alexey Miranchuk, Maxim Petrov, Lechi Sadulaev, and Alexander Golovin have been called up. The attack line will include Konstantin Tyukavin, Dmitry Vorobyov, and Alexander Sobolev.
On September 8, it was also announced that Russian PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov was named one of the contenders for the Lev Yashin prize, which recognizes the best goalkeeper of the year, with the published list featuring 10 football players.
