Baku: 'Certain information resources operating in the Republic of Azerbaijan and claiming to speak on behalf of various communities residing in the country are attempting to present themselves as media entities representing the interests of these national minorities,' the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan said in a statement.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Media Development Agency emphasized the necessity for all media entities conducting activities within Azerbaijan to adhere to the legal requirements stipulated by the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan 'On Media.' This includes mandatory registration in the 'Media Registry' Information System, as dictated by the legal framework.

The agency specifically highlighted the 'Ajmedia.news' website, which purports to be an information platform initiated by the Azerbaijan Jewish Media Center and prominent Jewish figures. The agency noted that this website has not been registered in the 'Media Registry' Information System and has violated media ethics in its publications. Consequently, a court decision was rendered, declaring the activities of 'Ajmedia.news' unlawful due to its non-compliance with the media legislation.

The statement reiterated the importance of all media entities, especially those representing specific communities or social groups, to rigorously follow the legislative requirements. It urged these entities to offer the public accurate, objective, and transparent information about their legal standing, professional activities, and representative nature.
