Artistic director of the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theater, Honored Art Worker, writer-journalist, director Mehriban Alakbarzade became the laureate of the Chingiz Aytmatov award of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS PA), APA reports. Her candidacy was proposed by the Standing Commission of Culture, Information, Tourism and Sports of the CIS PA. It should be noted that the Chingiz Aytmatov Award is given annually for services in the field of culture and education, contribution to the development of humanities, literature and art, the study and preservation of cultural heritage, the rapprochement and mutual enrichment of cultures, peoples and nations.
