Merchant Ship Sinks in Black Sea, One Confirmed Dead and Three Missing

Constanta:A merchant ship carrying Azerbaijani and Ukrainian citizens sank in the Black Sea, resulting in the death of one sailor, while three are reported missing. The incident occurred 13 nautical miles from Romania's port of Constanta.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the vessel, named Khoryv, had 13 people on board, including 10 Ukrainians and three Azerbaijanis. A distress signal was sent out by the ship at around 1000 local time, and Romanian authorities were alerted to the situation.

Nine individuals were rescued, but the cause of the sinking remains unknown. Preliminary and unconfirmed reports suggest that the vessel might have been subjected to a drone attack, which allegedly caused a fire. At the time of the incident, the ship was outside Romania's territorial waters but near the country's maritime border.
