The Russian Alley of Glory consisting of 10 busts to prominent representatives of Russian history and culture in the territory of the military camp of Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh, was rightly unequivocally approached by our citizens and raised many questions.
The general view is that taking such a step by a military contingent of the other country located in the territory of a sovereign country, is a disrespect to the state in which it is located and to the people, and it is unacceptable.
Military expert Ruslan Imanguliyev told APA that, of course, when we approach the issue through the point of view of the undesirable consequences of such situations in our recent history, concerns of people are understandable: “However, it is necessary to bring some issues into attention.
It has already been noted that this was placed in the territory of the military camp of Russian peacekeepers. Let’s recall the territories of the USSR military contingents abroad. Weren’t cultural monuments placed in those camps?.
There are many facts about the establishment of such cultural monuments in the military camps of the United States, Russia, and other countries located in other countries. For example, mosques, churches, and synagogues are set up on US bases so that believers can perform their religious rituals.
R. Imaguliyev reminded that a mosque was also established in the military camp of Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh: “Pictures of leaders of countries have been hung in Turkish-Russian Joint Monitoring Center. On the other hand, the period of stay of Russian peacekeepers in the territory of Azerbaijan has been determined with November 10 joint statement, and guided by it we can say that establishment of an alley is temporary.”
The military expert stressed that, in fact, an attempt of Armenians, who lost their hope from everywhere, to form a warm attitude towards themselves with such steps is not a new case, many examples can be shown for it: “We can show Azerbaijani peacekeepers, who serve abroad, as another example. Today, our military servicemen serving abroad exhibit images of our leaders and a number of our attributes in their service areas, and this does not bother anyone. We also should not evaluate acts that are not important, as a strategic step.
Taking into consideration all of these, we can say that public censure regarding the issue should be understandable but it is not right to understand or describe such cases the arbitrariness of someone in the territory of Azerbaijan or the weakness of our state. Azerbaijani state is enough strong, takes measures when it is necessary, does not afraid of anyone, and achieves what it wants. There is no need to enumerate facts in order to prove this”.
