Military Institute Named After Heydar Aliyev Hosts Grand Graduation Ceremony

Baku: On June 25, a solemn graduation ceremony took place for the graduating class of the Military Institute named after Heydar Aliyev under the National Defense University (NDU) and the Military Medical Faculty, as reported by the Ministry of Defense to AZERTAC. The event saw attendance from the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, personnel of military educational institutions, faculty members, graduates, parents, and representatives of the public and media.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the ceremony began with attendees paying respects at the monument of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, and the Memorial Complex dedicated to the Institute's servicemen martyred during the Patriotic War. Flowers were laid at the memorials in a gesture of deep respect and remembrance.

The Rector of the Military Institute, Major General Umidvar Guliyev, reported to the Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, marking the commencement of the ceremony. The solemn event included the presentation of the Institute's Battle Flag on the parade ground, a minute of silence in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs, and a performance of the National Anthem by a military orchestra.

In an address, the Minister of Defense congratulated the attendees on the 108th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan and wished the graduates success in serving the Motherland. The Minister underscored the ongoing reforms under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, highlighting their impact on enhancing the professional capacity of the Azerbaijan Army personnel.

The ceremony also celebrated the heroism displayed by Azerbaijani servicemen during the Patriotic War and other military operations, with a particular focus on the courage of the Military Institute's graduates. As part of the graduation ceremony program, the Minister of Defense awarded diplomas and valuable gifts to graduates who had distinguished themselves in their studies.

The new officers expressed their gratitude for the support from the President and the Ministry of Defense, pledging to serve their nation with dedication and professionalism. The event concluded with a ceremonial handover of the Battle Flag and a parade by the cadets, accompanied by a military orchestra, marking the end of a memorable ceremony.
