Milli Majlis Hosts U.S. Delegation to Discuss Strategic Relations

Baku: On January 31, members of the professional staff of the majority of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs visited the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis told APA. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on International Relations and Interparliamentary Ties, Samad Seyidov, shared his views on the history of Azerbaijan-U.S. relations, current areas of cooperation, and future development prospects. The meeting underscored the commitment to elevate relations to the level of strategic partnership, as reflected in joint statements and practical steps by both parties. During the discussions, the significance of the 'Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity' was highlighted. It was noted that this initiative, supported by the United States, could transform Eurasia's transport map and contribute to enhancing cooperation across the region. The importance of repealing the 90 7th Amendment to the Freedom Support Act concerning Azerbaijan was also discussed. The repeal is seen as a step towards improving bilateral relations, strengthening mutual trust, and expanding cooperation opportunities. Members of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs expressed satisfaction with the recent advancements in U.S.-Azerbaijan relations. They noted that mutual cooperation has deepened and interparliamentary dialogue has reached a new level, emphasizing that maintaining this positive dynamic benefits both sides.
