Aghdam: A male born in 1985 was hospitalized at around 14:50 on March 26, 2026, in the Emergency Medical Department of the Barda District Central Hospital due to a mine incident that occurred in the territory of Yusifjanli village of Aghdam district, the Barda District Central Hospital said in response to APA's inquiry.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the incident took place in Yusifjanli village, Aghdam district, which was liberated from occupation. The press services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Prosecutor General's Office, and the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) issued a joint statement regarding this. Jeyhun Firdovsi Abbasov, born in 1985 and a resident of Yusifjanli village, was injured in his left leg due to an anti-personnel mine explosion in an area along the former line of contact that had not been cleared of mines.
The Barda District Central Hospital reported that the patient was diagnosed with a traumatic amputation of the lower one-third of the left lower limb. His condition is currently assessed as moderately severe, and he is continuing treatment.
ANAMA personnel were dispatched to the scene to evacuate the injured person from the area. An investigation into the incident is being conducted by the Aghdam District Prosecutor's Office. ANAMA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Prosecutor General's Office have urged citizens to comply with safety rules, pay close attention to mine hazard signs, avoid entering unfamiliar areas, and not interfere in fenced-off zones.
