Minibus Accident in Shamkir District Injures 12, Investigation Underway

Baku: Today at around 07:35 a.m., a road traffic accident occurred in the Shamkir district, resulting in 12 people being hospitalized in the Emergency Medical Aid Department of Shamkir District Central Hospital, TABIB reported to APA. The injured, comprising 11 women and 1 man, were diagnosed with multiple traumas to various parts of their bodies.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the accident happened when a ‘Mercedes’ minibus lost control and overturned into an irrigation canal beside the road. Initially, it was reported that six people were injured, but the number later increased to 12. The passengers, totaling 23 including the driver, were traveling from Yevlakh to work in a greenhouse in Shamkir when the incident occurred.

Medical treatment for the injured is ongoing, with 10 individuals in moderately severe condition and 2 in severe condition. Police officers have been dispatched to the scene, and an investigation is currently in progress to determine the cause of the accident.
