Minimum Hourly Wage Considered for Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan: A minimum hourly wage may be introduced in Azerbaijan, APA reports. This development is part of the General Collective Agreement for 2026-2028, which has been signed by the Cabinet of Ministers, the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the agreement commits the parties to work towards the gradual increase of the minimum wage. The aim is to align the ratio of the minimum wage to the average wage in accordance with the European Social Charter. Furthermore, the agreement seeks to push for legislative amendments necessary for the introduction of a minimum hourly wage in the country.
