Baku: The minimum subsistence level and the poverty threshold are set to rise in Azerbaijan, APA-Economics reports. This development was a key topic at the recent meeting of the Committees on Labor and Social Policy and Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship of the Milli Majlis, Azerbaijan’s Parliament. The discussions centered around the draft laws ‘On the Minimum Subsistence Level in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026’ and ‘On the Poverty Threshold in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026.’

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the decision will see the minimum subsistence level and the poverty threshold increase by 15 AZN for the upcoming year, bringing the figures to 300 AZN. This marks a notable rise from the 2025 levels, where both the minimum subsistence level and the poverty threshold stood at 285 AZN. The adjustments reflect ongoing efforts to address economic challenges and improve living standards in the country.
