Baku: 67% of all court disputes are related to land conflicts, Hamat N.K. Bah, Minister of Lands, Regional Government and Religious Affairs of The Gambia, said during the 'Africa Affordable Housing Partnership Investor Session' held within the framework of WUF13, APA-Economics reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the high number of land disputes has necessitated the development of a new national land policy in the country. The minister emphasized that the reforms include the digitalization of land registration, creating a unified land information system, preparing cadastral maps, and modernizing land legislation.

H. Bah stated that the new policy will facilitate investors' access to land resources, reduce legal uncertainty, and improve the investment climate. The minister added that, with the support of the World Bank, work has already begun on updating land legislation, digitalization, and establishing a cadastral system. He noted that the goal is to increase transparency in land governance, reduce disputes, and accelerate the functioning of the land market.
