Minister Outlines Future Focus for Azerbaijan-Islamic Development Bank Cooperation

Baku: Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov has outlined the key areas of focus for Azerbaijan's cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank Group over the next five years. The collaborative efforts will concentrate on economic diversification, human capital investment, green and sustainable infrastructure development, and the expansion of regional connectivity.

According to Azeri-Press News agency, Minister Jabbarov shared these insights during a press conference held as part of the Islamic Development Bank Annual Meetings in Baku. He emphasized the joint initiatives being undertaken in various sectors, including water supply and treatment, railways, and agriculture, with specific attention to the liberated territories and the Alat Free Economic Zone.

The minister highlighted the Main Irrigation Canal project from the Maiden Tower Reservoir as a significant example of cooperation. This project aims to enhance water management and boost agricultural productivity in the Jabrayil and Fuzuli districts and surrounding areas.
