Minister: Yemen is interested in strengthening cooperation with Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Foreign Minister of Yemen Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak on the sidelines of the Summit-level Meeting of the NAM Contact Group in response to COVID-19 in Baku.

 

The sides discussed the prospects of future cooperation between the two countries in economic, trade, humanitarian, educational and other fields. The ministers also exchanged views on cooperation within international organizations, in particular the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the Yemeni minister about the 30-year-long occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, as well as the continued threat of mines.

 

Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak expressed his gratitude for the activities of Azerbaijan within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement, including the high-level organization of the Summit meeting of the NAM Contact Group in response to COVID-19 in Baku. He also expressed Yemen’s interest in strengthening cooperation with Azerbaijan and deepening the spirit of solidarity.

 

During the meeting, the sides also discussed regional security issues.
