Nakhchivan: Nakhchivan ranks first in the country in terms of the amount of sunlight per square meter. Nakhchivan also ranks first both in installed capacity and in the production of green energy, said Jahid Mikayilov, Head of the Energy Efficiency Department of the Ministry of Energy, during an event held in Nakhchivan related to the 'Covenant of Mayors - Eastern Partnership' initiative, APA-Economics reports.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, alongside the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions, the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic has also been declared a green energy zone. Jahid Mikayilov emphasized that energy efficiency is a crucial component of green energy, highlighting that the greenest energy is the energy that is saved. He pointed out that energy efficiency results in economic benefits, environmental protection, and the promise of a healthier environment for future generations.
