Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with the Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Banks Union, General Director of Ziraat Bank Alpaslan Chakar.

Mr. Jabbarov emphasized the favorable business and investment environment created in Azerbaijan, the investment attractiveness of our country, the great economic potential and rich natural resources of our liberated lands, and a wide range of business opportunities. The Minister said the Turkish Banks Union and Ziraat Bank are successfully cooperating, and as part of this partnership, a Trilateral Protocol of Intent on Cooperation was signed between the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) under the Ministry of Economy, Ziraat Bank Azerbaijan OJSC and Turk Eximbank, as well as a Memorandum of Understanding between SMBDA and the Turkish Participation Banks Association in 2019.

Noting the role of the banking sector in expanding Azerbaijani-Turkish economic relations, Mr. Jabbarov shared his views on the development of relations with the Bank.

Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Banks Union, General Director of Ziraat Bank Alpaslan Chakar stressed the active participation of Turkish companies in projects to revive the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, emphasizing that this collaboration will contribute to economic cooperation, business revival and establishment of new enterprises, thereby creating jobs, and also expressed the Bank’s interest in widening ties.

The sides focused on the activities of Ziraat Bank in Azerbaijan, and strengthening cooperation in trade and investment.
