Ministry of Justice Discloses Birth Statistics in Azerbaijan for 2024


BAKU — From January to July 2024, a total of 58,848 births were registered in Azerbaijan, with boys outnumbering girls, according to the Ministry of Justice.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, In response to an inquiry by APA, the Ministry reported that 31,306 boys and 27,542 girls were born during this period. The data also highlighted the most popular names for newborns in the country. Among boys, the names Ugur, Huseyn, Ali, Yusif, Raul, Omar, Muhammad, Murad, Aykhan, and Adam were the most frequently chosen. For girls, the top names included Zahra, Zeynab, Maryam, Aylin, Ayla, Nilay, Melisa, Fatima, Inji, and Malak.



These figures provide insight into the current demographic trends in Azerbaijan, reflecting cultural preferences in naming practices as well.
