Modern Renewable Energy Laboratory Opens at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University

Baku: A modern renewable energy laboratory was inaugurated at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) by bp, marking a significant step in advancing educational infrastructure in the field of renewable energy. Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, bp's Vice President for the Caspian region, Central Asia, and Trkiye, emphasized the importance of investing in both human capital and educational infrastructure for developing the skills required by future energy systems during the opening ceremony.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, bp's initiative is part of its broader mission to support the master's program in renewable energy at ASOIU, providing students and researchers with practical experience in emerging technologies. Aslanbayli expressed hopes that the laboratory will enhance renewable energy skills, bolster research and teaching capabilities, and train specialists to support Azerbaijan's energy transition.

The laboratory is the final component of bp's $2 million social investment initiative, aimed at developing a new generation of local engineers in the renewable energy sector. Since its inception in Azerbaijan, bp and its partners have invested over $115 million in social projects, underscoring their commitment to the country's educational and technological advancement in the energy sector.
