An event to mark October 18 – the Restoration of Independence Day has been held outside the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Moldova.

Representatives of the Moldovan public, an employee of the Turkish embassy in Moldova, members of the Congress of Azerbaijanis in Moldova, as well as foreign and Azerbaijani students attended the event.

The participants laid flowers at the bust of Azerbaijan’s national leader Heydar Aliyev.

Addressing the event, diplomats of Azerbaijani and Turkish embassies, as well as Azerbaijanis living in Moldova highlighted the restoration of independence of the Azerbaijani people on October 18, 1991, the comprehensive development of modern Azerbaijan after regaining its independence and invaluable services of great leader Heydar Aliyev in promoting the country on the international arena.

The event also featured a photo exhibition highlighting the history of Azerbaijan`s independence, and its rapid development as a modern country.
