More Than 182 Million Tons of Oil Extracted from Oil Rocks

Baku: A total of 182.4 million tons of oil has been produced from the Oil Rocks (Neft Dashlari) field to date, as of May 1, 2025. This information was presented by SOCAR at the 31st Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition, Caspian Oil and Gas.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, a total of 14.3 billion cubic meters of associated gas has been produced from the Oil Rocks field so far. It was reported that 1,986 wells have been drilled at Oil Rocks to date, with 409 currently in operation. The Oil Rocks field is noted for being the site of the world's first offshore industrial oil production, which began in 1949.

It was emphasized that 70% of SOCAR's annual oil and gas production is transported from Oil Rocks to the shore. The field continues to play a significant role in the energy production of the region, contributing extensively to the country's economy and energy sector.
