Baku: More than 1,000 people in Azerbaijan are currently in need of organ donations, as revealed by Yegana Abbasova, Chair of the Coordination Center for Organ Donation and Transplantation. Abbasova provided this information in a statement to journalists, highlighting the urgent demand for organ donors in the country.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, there are 4,642 individuals in Azerbaijan undergoing dialysis treatment, all of whom require donors. Following the first deceased-donor organ transplantation in the country, interest in organ donation has seen a significant increase, with over 1,200 people expressing their willingness to become donors.
